James Willis, MD, FACC
Dr. Willis is the founder and partner of Cardiology Associates of Northern New York. He has practiced Cardiology since 1983. He chooses to practice Cardiology because his favorite aunt suffered a heart attack and there was little they could do to help her at the time. He wanted to make a difference by helping people with cardiac problems.
Dr. Willis earned his Doctorate in Medicine from University of Ottawa. He completed his internship at Toronto General Hospital and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at University of Ottawa Cardiac Institute.
Dr. Willis is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He maintains certification in Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy.
Dr. Willis is presently on the Pharmaceutical Therapeutics and Special Care Committee and is the Medical Director for Cardiac Rehab.
Dr. Willis is a member of the: American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, Heart Rhythm Society, Medical Society of the state of New York, Jefferson County Medical Society, Jefferson Physician Organization, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Willis is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Willis past resume includes initiating an Electrophysiology (EP) program to study people with life threatening rhythm problems at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Florida and has taught at University of Rochester while working at 5 different Rochester hospitals. His clinical interests include cardiac arrhythmias and device therapies (pacemakers and defibrillators).
Dr. Willis enjoys music, dancing and bike riding in his spare time.
David Antecol, MD, FACC
Dr. Antecol is a partner at Cardiology Associates of Northern New York. Dr. Antecol has practiced Cardiology since 1992. He chose to become a doctor because he liked how medicine gives you the understanding you gain about how life works. He chooses cardiology because it has a lot of mechanics, electricity and fluid dynamics.
Dr. Antecol earned his Doctorate in Medicine from University of Ottawa. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at University of Alberta and a Research Fellowship in Echocardiography at University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
Dr. Antecol is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He maintains certification in Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy.
Dr. Antecol is currently designated as 1 of 1412 Specialists in Clinical Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension.

Dr. Antecol is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Antecol is an avid reader; he enjoys exercise, and has been a practicing Vegetarian for 12 years. He likes looking after animals & supports the local and national SPCA.
Kate Symenow, PA-C, MPAS
Kate has been a part of our team at Cardiology Associates of NNY since 2005.
Kate received her Bachelor of Health Science with a minor in Biology; followed by Master of Physician Assistant studies at Daemen College in 2004. She has completed a Masters Research Project. She graduated Summa Cum Laude.
From the start of her education, Kate was most interested in cardiology because heart disease affects millions of Americans and takes many forms. She feels she can make a difference working with this patient population as it allows her to treat acute and chronic disease, educate patients and give preventative care to keep patients healthy and improve their quality of life.
Kate’s prior work experience includes EJ Noble Emergency Room and Family Practice Medicine at DeKalb Health Center.
Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, children and boating on the St. Lawrence River.
Patricia Miller, RN
Patty is the Office and Nursing Manager. She has a wealth of critical care nursing experience and is ready to assist with any provider, staff or patient problem. You may find her working in her office, filling in for nursing, working in the nuclear stress lab or doing pacer clinic.
Her gentle and easy assuring manner creates a pleasant and positive work environment for both staff and patients.
Patty enjoys spending time with her family and camping during the summertime.
